District 9

This film is well....wierd at best but I watched it from start to finish.  After you stop laughing at the prawn aliens and once the guy gets infected then it's a pretty good story. It wasnt at all what I had expected.  Most of the cast are unknowns to us. So, when aliens land on Earth, global business conglomerate Multi-National United forces them into rigid containment zones where they are compelled to labor, even as MNU commandeers their otherworldly technology for profit. As tensions build between human and non-human races, a rogue agent leads a resistance movement against MNU's ruthless consolidation of power. Neill Blomkamp directs this cinema verité-style sci-fi thriller.

Love and Other Disasters

Since the death of Brittany Murphy, I have been going back and watching her films. Which many were really good. This is actually quite cute and easy to follow. Director Alek Keshishian unspools a charming tale that finds a young American attempting to play matchmaker for friends and co-workers -- with mixed results -- while interning at a major British fashion magazine. Problem is, she's so busy hooking up everyone else that she can't see her ideal match right under her nose.

Film Locations:
Although shooting was to be done in Vancouver, which was where the previous three films were shot, David R. Ellis convinced the producers to shoot in New Orleans instead to bring business to the city, and because the budget was already large. The opening crash sequence at "McKinley Speedway" was filmed at Mobile International Speedway in Irvington, Alabama. Filming began in March 2008 and ended late May in the same year. Reshoots were done in April 2009 at Universal Studios Florida.

From then on, everyone figured him for a loony -- except his childhood sweetheart, Caitlin, and her brother, Michael When Kyle returns to his hometown, it seems he wasn't so crazy, after all: An undefinable evil has settled in the town of Darkness Falls, and Kyle must save everyone from it.

Battlestar Gallactica Caprica

Well this help me to understand where the CYLONS came from!
It was really good and the series starts this month on tv so it's important to watch this to understand the series. Set half a century before the "Battlestar Galactica" series, this feature film follows industrialist Daniel Graystone as he harnesses powerful technology to create the first-ever Cylon in the wake of a personal tragedy. Gravely concerned about Graystone's ethics, attorney Joseph Adama father of future admiral William Adama, becomes a fervent opponent of the powerful scientist and businessman.

The Cast:
Eric Stoltz
Esai Morales
Paula Malcomson
Polly Walker
Alessandra Torresani
Magda Apanowicz

Also note: Battlestar Gallactica Caprica the TV SERIES airs January 22, and Battlestar Gallactica The Plan airs January 10th both on SYFY! The first season, composed of the two-hour pilot and 19 more one-hour episodes. I'm excited!

If you never watched the TV series 2003-2009 you can catch up on them all on Netflix!
