TV's Best Series, some still airing

Doctor Who (BBC America New Version/ on Sci Fi too):  I am a huge fan of Doctor Who (not the old 80's series) I came in with Doctor Who was Christopher Eccleston and the current Doctor Who being David Tennant and in 3 more episodes will be the final Doctor Who will be Matt Smith because as you know he only has 11 regenerations as a Time Lord. More than 15 years after "Doctor Who" went off the airwaves, the venerable sci-fi series got a well-received 21st-century makeover, complete with younger actors, modern editing and vibrant CGI animation. Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious alien time-traveller (called a Time Lord) known as "the Doctor" who travels in his time and spaceship, the TARDIS, which normally appears from the exterior to be a blue 1950s police box. With his companions, he explores time and space whilst facing a variety of foes and righting wrongs. It's fantastic!

Torchwood: Now you know I would love this since its a spin off from Doctor Who! In this series policewoman Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles) stumbles upon a secret organization known as Torchwood, a clandestine group led by the mysterious Capt. Jack Harkness (John Barrowman-He's gay, but he's gorgeous ladies!!) that monitors alien activity on Earth. Cooper soon joins Harkness, tech expert Toshiko Sato (Naoko Mori) and medic Owen Harper (Burn Gorman) in their quest to protect Earth from invasion. Every episode is a great adventure.

Primeval: An unexplained wrinkle in time, with prehistoric creatures are running amok through the modern age, prompting evolutionary zoologist Nick Cutter (Douglas Henshall) to spring into action. With his small team of experts, Cutter takes on the anachronistic beasts and tries to keep a global crisis at bay. But the sudden reappearance of his wife, whom he long thought dead, only adds another piece to a complicated puzzle. I think im hooked on BBS America tv programming, or they just have better shows than us! LOL
This is another must see show.

Burn Notice: When secret agent Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) inexplicably gets his walking papers, he makes his way home to Miami and turns his talents to private detective work, all the while trying to get to the bottom of his mysterious fall from grace. Gabrielle Anwar and Bruce Campbell co-star in this breezy espionage series, in which multiple Emmy and Golden Globe-winner Sharon Gless plays Westen's carping mother.

Heroes: Best Drama follows a global group of everyday people who, in the midst of their perfectly normal lives, awake to discover they have special powers -- from stopping time to reading people's thoughts. The newly minted superheroes eventually join forces to defeat their mutual foe, who plots to steal their super-DNA and destroy the world. Hero Masi Oka earned his first Emmy nod playing Hiro, a time traveler.

Prison Break: With each episode, we learn more details about Michael's ultimate prison break to help his brother, Lincoln (Dominic Purcell), break out of the Fox River State Penitentiary … but will it go off without a hitch? A nationwide manhunt ensues second season. After a season on the run, Michael (Wentworth Miller) finds himself back behind bars, incarcerated in a nightmarish Panamanian penitentiary that authorities have deserted in the wake of a prison riot. With brutal inmates running the show led by the vicious Lecherojust staying alive will be a challenge for Michael. Meanwhile, Lincoln is on the outside working on the next jailbreak. On the loose again, after breaking out of a dangerous Panamanian prison, but the shadowy agents who framed Burrows for murder are on their trail, in the fourth season of this popular TV series. And unlike their last breakout, from a U.S. prison, when they were hoping to quietly disappear, the brothers now want revenge for the death of Scofield's girlfriend. This is a great series shame its ended now.

Doll House:
Eliza Dushku stars as Echo, a member of an elite underground organization that sends its operatives on dangerous missions, then brings them back to their top-secret Dollhouse to wipe out all memory of the assignment. But when Echo starts to recall troubling bits and flashes from her former missions, she begins to question who she is and just what this powerful organization is doing. Olivia Williams and Tahmoh Penikett co-star.

Sara Conner Chronicles: Based on the popular Terminator action films, Sarah Connormust prepare her teenage son Johnfor his destiny as leader of the human resistance in a future where intelligent machines have decided that mankind must be terminated. As they race to head off the pending apocalypse, they're aided by a reprogrammed robot sent from the future to protect them and hunted by robotic assassins sent to kill them. Sarah Connor fights to protect her teenage son John from a series of nearly indestructible robots sent from the future to kill him, in this exciting series based on the popular Terminator films. In the second season, the Connors and their one robot protector Camerontry to find and destroy the Skynet project that is destined to one day create the Terminators. Its a great series, and airs again in January for another wild season.

Reaper: With a creative team that includes filmmaker Kevin Smith and the producers of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," this offbeat supernatural series follows Sam Oliver (Bret Harrison), a young man forced into service as a bounty hunter for the devil (Ray Wise). Sam and his co-workers spend each episode rounding up escaped souls and returning them to hell. Tyler Labine, Missy Peregrym, Rick Gonzalez and Valarie Rae Miller co-star.

Stargate Atlantis: This spin-off of the Sci-Fi Channel's hugely popular "Stargate SG-1" series finds its crew, led by Dr. Elizabeth Weir (Torri Higginson), on a base located in Antarctica, wherein lies the lost civilization of Atlantis. What's more, they've also discovered a parallel world of sorts in a galaxy known as Pegasus, but what lies therein may not offer salvation; instead, it seems to be posing an imminent danger to the inhabitants of Earth. Now into its fifth season its a not miss classic as good as StarGate-.SG1.

Eureka: This quirky sci-fi series kicks off with stranded U.S. Marshal Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson) wandering into a remote town populated by geniuses, a not-so-sleepy hamlet harboring a slew of government secrets and bizarre mysteries. Assuming the duties of sheriff, Carter navigates the strange goings on in Eureka, including alien abductions, control-freak computers, poisonous pollens and more.

TV Reality Programming:

Gene Simmons Family Jewels: Gene is simply hilarious, I remember KISS as a kid but really didnt get into the whole fan thing. Not long ago the started airing this show and I fell in love with his family. The whole gang is funny and he is an amazing entrepreneur.

L.A. Ink: Artist Kat Von D, who moves to Los Angeles and uses her unique style to become inker to the stars. In a city known for its tats, celebrities, musicians and wannabes line up for Kat's black-and-gray art in this reality series from The Learning Channel. Between clients, Kat deals with the day-to-day headaches of running a business and managing her talented staff: Pixie, Corey, Kim and Hannah.

The Osbournes: Wow this series was quite the odd ball family jewel of its time, Ozzy when you could understand him you still didnt know what the heck he was talking about, as the seasons went on it got better and better.

Rob and Big: Rob Dyrek and Big Black are a hilarious dual, Their both quick witted and do stupid and rewarding things throughout their show. You dont have to be a boarder to admire there funny life together.

Meerkat Manor: Being a compassionate animal lover I thought this was more of a documentary show, which it is, but throughtout this series you follow all the named characters through thick and thin, sadness and hilarity. Its a great show for animal lovers.

Janice Dickinson Modeling: Supermodel who got kicked off of Tyra's show...managed to get her own show. Which even though sometimes you will just hate the biatch, you'll also give her props and credit for doing something good wth all the knowledage as an ex model she has to offer. Sometimes she can be just plain offensive and other times make you cry.

My Life on The D-List: When Kathy Griffin came onto the scene way back when, I didnt like her, maybe because of my age then. Now at my age I fell in love with her series, and really got to see who she is and all about, She freakin funny!

The Simple Life: Remember when?! LOL these two back in the day had America waiting for every episode to air. Talk about airheads, dumb blondes. Really? They had to be faking there way through alot of it, nobodys that dumb, are they?!.

Fat Actress: Guess who?! It's our girl from the show CHEERS: Kirstie Alley, and wow is she big here!
I was curious so I put this in my queque list for netflix stuff. I actually liked it. It was only a season long. But she manages to make light of her life. the show captures the travails of an actress who doesn't quite fit the physical mold in Hollywood but tries anyway to snag roles (in her usual wittily acerbic style) because she truly was/is a talent.
